A week after announcing that she will be dropping a new song, Billie Eilish unveiled an ode to learning to accept herself, "my future," on Thursday (July 30).
"I'm in love with my future / Can't wait to meet her / And I'm in love, but not with anybody else / Just want to get to know myself," she muses in the evocative melody, paying tribute to her personal growth and independence.
In the accompanying video, a cartoon Billie ponders her life amid a rainy, lush landscape. When the second verse gets groovy, the sun comes out and the greenery begins to bloom exponentially--just as Eilish's career continues to do in real life.
"my future" follows her recent theme to the 007 film, No Time to Die and her 2019 track, "everything i wanted." Though Eilish has not revealed plans for a sophomore album yet, her 2019 debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? landed her atop the Billboard 200 and won two Grammys for album of the year and best pop vocal album.
