The Buffalo Bills beat their opponent in Week 18, but didn’t get the help they needed to clinch a playoff spot.

In the early window, the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts both easily won their games, eliminating one potential clinching scenario for the Bills. In the late window, the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to beat the Seattle Seahawks, effectively ending Buffalo’s clinching scenarios for Week 18.

The Bills still need some help in the final week of the season or a win against the AFC East-leading Miami Dolphins to clinch a playoff spot.

If the Bills want to back into the playoffs in Week 18 without a win, here are the (“normal”) ways for it to happen:

• Jaguars loss (play Titans, who have been eliminated)
• Steelers loss (play Ravens, who have clinched their spot)

In short, the Bills need to win to get into the postseason. Even after their excellent run in December.

Houston and Pittsburgh go to a tiebreaker, and the Texans have a win over Pittsburgh
e - The Titans, Jets, Chargers, and Patriots have been eliminated from the postseason. The Broncos, Bengals, and Raiders joined them in Week 18.
