HICKORY, N.C. -- In this week's AFCA poll, the Lenoir-Rhyne Football Team moved up one spot to No. 16. The Bears have now been ranked for 23 straight weeks, just three shy of tying the program record for consecutive weeks in the top 25.
The Bears jumped from 17 to 16 in the poll thanks to a 31-16 win over Newberry in the Bears home opener on Saturday.
Wingate jumped to No. 10 in the poll as the only other SAC team in the national rankings.
The Bears return to action on Saturday when they travel to UVA Wise. The Bears own a 42-8 all-time mark when playing as a ranked team.
