TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Petra Sedlackova will represent the Alabama women's tennis team at the NCAA Singles Championships, joining the field of 64 players Sunday as the fifth alternate. The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships is set to run May 23-28 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Illinois, following the conclusion of the NCAA team championships.
Sedlackova will join teammate Loudmilla Bencheikh who was added to the field as the third alternate on Saturday.

A Second Team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman Team honoree, Sedlackova opened her collegiate career strong. She currently ranks 68th in the Intercollegiate Tennis rankings and holds a team-leading 23 singles wins. During the dual match season, Sedlackova put together an impressive 16-3 record with 15 wins coming at the No. 3 singles spot where she won 12 of her first 14 matches. She advanced to the semifinals at the ITA Southern Regional Championships in the fall and helped clinch UA's win over No. 10 Georgia during the regular season.
Bencheikh and Sedlackova are the 12th and 13th players to advance to the women's NCAA singles draw as Alabama has tallied 24 berths to the singles tournament. Andie Daniell was the last player to earn a spot in the singles draw, making her second appearance in the tournament in 2019. Sedlackova and Bencheikh will also mark the 16th and 17th athletes to make the NCAA singles event under head coach Mainz.
