Coastal cuisine franchise Surf Taco is opening a spot in Wall.
A Surf Taco spokesman told NJ Advance Media the new location is opening in March at 1818 Route 35, although an official opening date has not yet been announced.
The space was formerly occupied by the Muscle Maker Grill, according to a report by 94.3 The Point.
Surf Taco says “coastal cuisine” refers to food inspiration taken from California, Baja Mexico, Brazil, Hawaii and Costa Rica.
Tacos, burritos, wraps, salads and smoothies dominate the menu. Desserts include chocolate tacos and Caribbean bananas, which are bananas fried in a sweet tempura batter and covered with caramel.
There are currently 13 Surf Taco restaurants in New Jersey, with several along the Jersey Shore. The 13 locations are Belmar, Hoboken, Jackson, Lacey, Long Branch, Manasquan, New Brunswick, Point Pleasant, Princeton, Red Bank, Seaside Park, Silverton and Shipbottom.
There is also a Surf Taco in Jupiter, Florida.
The franchise was founded in 2001.
