The Choctaw Central baseball team swept two games from Louisville last week and nailed down a spot in the upcoming State Class 4A baseball playoffs.
The Warriors beat Louisville 15-5 in the first game and 8-3 in the second game.
The Warriors’ only game this week was against Philadelphia on Monday. It was cancelled due to rain.
Andre’as Jim was the winning pitcher, He came on in relief of starter Braylon Smith. Jim had two doubles for the Warriors. Ethan Chapman also had two hits and Smith hit two singles.
Ethan Chapman was the winning pitcher in game two. He came on in relief.
Braylon McMillian hit two doubles.
Girls softball
The Lady Warriors won three-of-four games last week and improved their record to 12-9.
The Lady Warriors were to play at West Lauderdale Tuesday, weather permitting.
The Lady Warriors opened the week with a 9-0 loss to Kosciusko. Tori Henry took the pitching loss. Kodi Jimmie hit a double. Belinda Frazier had two hits and Taylor Willis hit a single.
The Lady Warriors then took a 12-0 win over Leake Central. Choctaw Central scored four in the first, three in the second, four in the third and one in the fourth.
Lauren Frazier was the winning pitcher. Leia Phillips hit a home run, a triple and a single. She scored three runs and had four RBIs. Tyra Billy and Frazier both hit a double. Tayla Willis hit a double and Kodi Jimmie hit a triple.
Choctaw Central swept two games from Louisville, winning game one 19-0 and game two 18-0.
In game one, the Lady Warriors scored 10 in the first and nine in the second. Frazier was the winning pitcher.
Tori Henry hit a home run while Tayla Willis added a triple. Kodi Jimmie, Tessney Morris and Malakai Morris all hit a double.
The Lady Warriors won game 2, 18-0. Henry was the winning pitcher. Paisley Hernandez hit a triple while Linda Frazier, Tori Henry and Destiny Tubby all hit a double,
